Four companies participating in project-based learning on Green Building

As part of the "Green Building" course, the students worked on project tasks in collaboration with companies such as Knauf Insulation, Beton Lučko, Dok-ing and Gnezdo. These tasks were based on the principles of project-based learning and enabled students to actively participate in researching real challenges in the field of sustainable building.

By visiting the facilities of these companies, students gathered important information needed to evaluate the life cycle of specific projects. Through these authentic situations, students developed key skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork.

The project tasks focussed on different aspects of sustainable construction, including waste management, energy efficiency, life cycle thinking and general sustainability in the construction sector. Through these activities, students were encouraged to take an active role in their learning process by researching, analysing and solving real-life problems.

At the end of the project, the students prepared presentations which they gave to industry representatives on 6 May. These presentations included initial analyses and suggestions for improvement, which will serve as a basis for further project development by the industry partners.

This synergy between the academic community and industry not only allowed students to gain practical experience, but also contributed to innovation and progress in the field of sustainable construction. The project-based learning approach allowed students to contextualise their learning, foster communication and collaboration and hold them accountable for their own education, reflecting the commitment of the educational institutions in preparing students for future challenges in the construction sector.
