Promotion of women in science - Science in Passage event

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the fourth Science in Passage event was held on Zagreb’ main square, on 08.03.2025. The aim of this event was to promote women in science and encourage girls and young women to pursue their carriers science.

The Science in Passage event is special in that only female scientists talk about their research, among which in this years’ event the Coordinator of GREENCO project, Marijana Serdar.

Marijana talked about all the various materials that we can build with, while placing emphasis on the exploration of environmentally sustainable building materials that could replace concrete (responsible for large CO2 emissions) in the future.

The event itself draws inspiration from similar events from across Europe, where female scientists came out of the lab to present their work to citizens, sparking open discussions about science outside of academia.
