Members of GREENCO took part in the presentation of the new system for the assessment of informal and non-formal learning in the Republic of Croatia

The Ministry of Science and Education, in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Structural Reforms of the European Commission (DG REFORM), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education presented the Croatian system for the assessment of knowledge and skills acquired through non-formal and informal learning, together with the draft of a new regulation on the procedure for the application and implementation of prior learning assessment, which is currently under public consultation. The establishment of the prior learning assessment system was driven by a project funded by the European Union's Technical Assistance and Support Instrument (TSI). The presentation took place on 5 March 2024 at the Congress Centre of the National and University Library in Zagreb. The event was attended by numerous stakeholders from the adult education system in the Republic of Croatia and international experts who presented the new system of recognition of prior learning to a wide audience, including the assessment regulations, the methodology for creating assessment programmes and a guide for institutions. Members of the GREENCO team attended the event to follow the changes to the legal framework for the recognition of workers' qualifications. We will continue to monitor the changes in the legal framework in the field of education and the recognition of workers' qualifications and endeavour to engage with decision-makers.
