Members of GREENCO team took part in the Scinergy project

The two-day conference, which took place on 14 and 15 February in Zagreb, marked the start of the Scinergy project. This project is being implemented by the Nikola Tesla Innovation Centre (ICENT) in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Education (MZO) and the World Bank to promote greater cooperation between industry and science in order to improve the innovation and competitiveness of the Croatian economy.

The largest conference on connecting industry and science in Croatia brought together numerous representatives from business and science, investors and decision-makers.

During the conference, the first "scientific speed dating" took place, where representatives of over 100 companies had the opportunity to meet with more than 100 top scientists. These scientists were selected from 250 registered companies and 140 scientists in Croatia participating in the Scinergy project. In a fast-paced format of 15 minutes, each company representative chatted with up to three scientists. The pairs whose needs and interests matched best continued exploring and defining collaboration in group workshops on Thursday.

Among the selected companies are well-known small and medium-sized enterprises as well as leading companies in the Croatian economy, while the selected scientists come from around 15 scientific research institutions, including FER, PMF, Ruđer Bošković Institute, Institute of Physics, PBF, RGN, FKIT, FOI, FESB and others.

The participating companies and scientists will work under the expert guidance of ICENT professionals to implement advanced technologies and solutions to meet the needs of the market and industry. In addition, members of the GREENCO team also participated in Scinergy to further explore the needs of the industry and assess how well they currently fulfil industry requirements.
