Study visit to the Temporary construction waste storage

After visiting PORR last year, this year an example of good practice in managing materials resulting from the reconstruction after the Zagreb and Petrinja earthquake in 2020 and 2021.

The students enrolled to the ‘Green building’ course on UNIZG FCE, on the 11.4.2025 visited the Temporary construction waste storage in Resnik, managed by the Municipality of Zagreb, where they saw the process of receiving materials, as well as the system of sieving and sorting into three fractions. Most of the materials have already found use in construction.

This experience gave students a valuable opportunity to compare the waste management practices across different countries and see the real-life scenarios of construction waste management.
